Underdawgbuju just released his latest single titled “Addys 4 a Feel.” Buju has really found his pocket, his sound is just so consistent and addictive. His cadence is one of the standout features of his sound. His beat selection is also some of the best in the underground scene. He just doesn’t miss, the energy is always on point and the atmosphere always sets the mood. “Addys 4 a Feel” delivers an experience that hits on all fronts. Buju has a very unique and ever-changing cadence in the track. There are moments where I thought it was another artist but then realized there ain’t no features on this song. This is why Buju’s voice is my main point of attention when listening to his music. He has a very unique one at that, his voice has a lot of range but also has the perfect low end to bring it all together. This is amplified by his beat choice which as always is superb. When I see a new Buju track, I know he’s gonna pull out the big guns and give us a masterpiece. This is across his production, vocal delivery, and even his aesthetic. But one thing that is a final nail in the coffin, Is the mixing and mastering. Buju is someone that has massively improved on this end and his music has become radio ready within the last few releases. That to me makes it all come together even more, as someone who loves all sides of music. I’m happy to see even the underground sound getting their music to a level of quality that the mainstream can appreciate. His aesthetic is another of the main points that I feel Buju has massively surpassed a lot of others in the scene. His drip is unlike anyone I know and that’s something that will take him very far. He is definitely one of the best dressed in the underground. Something that means a lot to me is good cover arts. Buju’s cover art game is some of the more consistent in quality, and this track is no exception. The concept is simple but so effective. The pill bottle with pills floating all around on a black backdrop is simple yet powerful. The dark atmosphere is the staple aesthetic for Buju and his collective. So having it here is just another part of the artistic aesthetic. The dark aesthetic was used beautifully on the “KEN3” project with K-T3. Especially with the music video I directed for “Billi Bag” which embodies that dark night aesthetic. Buju is one of the top guys in the new wave hyperpop rage scene and he is well on his way to making a massive impact. I’m excited for his next release which he has announced will be coming later this month.
