FBK’s

“WAT U SEE IN ME?” is a love song that takes on a different approach from what is expected of love; it hurts but seeks answers and revenge as a way of finding out the truth of what the love was all about. Love songs are probably seen as the most prominent category of music, but this song takes on a different approach. FBK wants answers to why he was treated the way he was and if his efforts were worth the struggle. Is the love genuine, or is she just there to bask in his fame and his publicity? There's a struggle throughout the song that forces the listener to look back and wonder if they have ever encountered a love that was just there to use them; it allows for the audience's eyes to be open to this possibility and heartbreak. This song is quick, but it doesn't miss on its message, acting as the perfect song to blast after a heartbreak, giving you a catchy melody to sing to without missing out on the emotions felt during a time of betrayal.

With the key standouts that FBK brings to the song are the contrast from how he uses the sound of the melody to portray the emotions he is feeling throughout, using speed and tempo to build up the emotion of betrayal. His relatability in this song also works as a key standout that shouldn't be ignored; most people can relate to the feeling of betrayal that comes with falling in love or being in love. We wonder if it was ever genuine, if the betrayal was possible at the end of the day. he takes this feeling and runs with it. Asking the questions most are afraid to in the moment, giving the feeling of genuine meaning in how it should be expressed in the moment. He asks, “why was this for” and “was it for the money”, then takes his assumptions and creates an end with a breakup. This song creates an emotion of looking in from the outside, seeing all the emotions, and relating to what he is feeling.

FBK takes on a lot of different takes with his vocals in this song, with using a raw format to express emotions and the use of autotune to create a greater depth into what he is trying to express. He uses the use of speed to his advantage, keeping an overall fast pace rhythm to his voice with occasional slowed down to emphasize a point or the emotion of sadness or regret. There is a strong use of echoes in this song that push for the depth that he is creating for the emotion; it allows the listener to fall deeper into the music and allows for standout moments all around the melody. FBK has a beautiful voice that is soft and delicate, which works perfectly well with the message he wants to express. It flows perfectly and expresses what needs to be felt. Overall, his voice perfectly pushes the emotions needed and creates an enticing ambiance that makes you want to go back and feel what he feels.

This song has two distinct changes within its verses, and it's the emotions that he is feeling throughout the feeling of betrayal. It starts with a key distinction of heartbreak that slowly transitions into the realization of the truth and the true intention behind what his girl wanted, She didn't want him; she wanted what he could give her. Fame, money, and clothes were the chase she was after, and having him realize that felt amazing. It's a perfect way to shift the tone as the listener relates to FBK but also wishes they could have had that realization when they were in a struggle similar to his. The shift is seen when the melody slows down and unlocks the new chapter of what's to come, bringing you back in and following along with the story.

To wrap up, FBK’s “ WAT U SEE IN ME?’ is a song that celebrates the realization that comes after the feeling of betrayal led by heartbreak. It goes through the notions and the emotions that a person feels when they realize the love wasn't genuine and that they were only there for the riches and the fame. It makes the listener question if they have ever been betrayed the way FBK has and makes them relate to his overall perspective. It takes on aspects of revenge towards the end, spreading the message that she never deserved what she was given. Honestly, this song is an overall amazing play on emotions with its catchy and relatable lyrics as well as the different changes throughout his singing, This song is wonderful and relatable. It shows you what your heart truly feels when you don't know how to accept what shouldn't have been done to you.
