Lithe just released a banger titled “Hold Out” with the up-and-coming FRVRFRIDAY. This is a duo that I didn’t think I needed and they both sound natural together. The chemistry feels pure and matching in tone. Everything from the production to the delivery on this track evokes a level of emotion and creates this atmosphere that traps you in the world they created. Sound like I’m exaggerating but that’s genuinely what I feel when I listen to this track. Nothing but the best level of immersion. When a song that isn’t overly produced like this can immerse me so deeply is something very special. The dynamic between the two artists is great, and while they don't offer completely different styles, their cadences are noticeably distinct. This is my first time hearing Lithe, and I'm struck by his unique vocal energy and tone, reminiscent of Guss, an underground talent I've covered before. His mid-range voice has the potential to work well with various styles and genres. This is one of the reasons I can see him going far. He’s already averaging 1.7 million monthlies with only 11K followers. FRVRFRIDAY delivered a great verse, he added that little bit of energy to the track that I feel was needed. The darker aesthetic of this track is what gives it such a strong identity. Lithe’s use of VHS cameras for his videos is another thing that helps push this dark gritty aesthetic even further. The darker night vision look of the VHS gives the track a distinct feel and character. The production behind this track is done by Josiah Ramel who delivered one of the more important roles of this track’s infectious and dark tone. The piano riff sets that dark apocalyptic atmosphere to the track. Lithe’s vocal style just adds that perfect layer of moodiness to an already fantastic instrumental. This is what multiple layers of quality create, everything is well thought out and delivered.
