Duvy - Bloody Surgery Ft. Mar Guwop
Weekly Music
Duvy delivers yet another classic with a track titled “Bloody Surgery.” This song serves as a direct precursor to Duvy's upcoming album titled, "How Did I End Up Here." This track features a slightly more mellow and melodic Duvy, as well as one that is a little more emotional. It's a deeper, more responsive track that highlights Duvy's perfect cadence and its versatility. We're all familiar with and enjoy Duvy's classic high-energy tracks and their memorable hooks and punchy verses, but tracks like this create a stronger bond with the audience and help tighten a fan base. The subject matter is much more intimate and personal and that is what makes it that much more special. The production elevates this; we get a very memorable and deep piano melody that just echoes throughout the track. Duvy's more melodic delivery has improved significantly over the last year. He's starting to use less and less auto-tune, to the point where it's difficult to tell he's even using it, as evidenced by this track and his previous work. His development as a vocalist and artist is amazing to watch, and his development as a person has also had a positive impact on the music. Mar Guwop, the artist featured on the track, delivers an excellent melodic performance. He also gave us something memorable, such as his switch between high-pitched and low-pitched tonality during his verse. It was a pleasant surprise that made him stand out. I appreciate it when someone goes out of their way to deliver a great feature that elevates the track, rather than just doing it to do it like most others. I adore this song and its dark atmosphere and its aesthetic. This is a great build-up to his next album and one that has massive anticipation. The whole city is waiting for it and I can’t wait to see Duvy’s next massive body of work and to witness the start of a new chapter for him.
