Astrokidjay is one of my favorites coming out of the city right now. His consistency is outstanding and hearing him deliver such a great sound is something that makes him one of the better acts coming out of the city. Everything about this release is fantastic: his consistent sound, his collaborations on this project, and the visual content to accompany it. Everything feels on point and well put together, which is extremely refreshing. Duvy is the only other guy doing it this way, and he's one of the main features of this project. "GBTM: SIDE A" is the title of the project. This project includes six tracks, two of which have already been released as singles ("Hunnid Dayz" and "Hell & Back"). The project offers 4 new singles with each living up to the hype. The singles are “Buju,” and “Devil In Disguise,” featuring Duvy and Anti Da Menace. “Virginia Hill” featuring Sally Sossa and “Layer Fees” featuring Portion and TOB Duke. My personal favorite is “Layer Fees,” Portion is definitely one of the greats coming out of the city, he is amongst the guys making quality music and keeping a consistent sound. This was a great addition to the project and his verse remains one of my favorites from all the features. “Devil In Disguise” is another banger with Duvy delivering a great verse and a very exciting and memorable verse from someone I just got introduced to named Anti Da Menace. He has a distinct sound, especially for Toronto. He has raw talent and will go far if he continues in this direction. Astro, as usual, delivered an outstanding performance. He's a natural, with an addictive and catchy melodic and cinematic flow. This goes on for all the songs on the project, Astro just has his sound on lock. Outside of the music, I really appreciate the consistency of the content. The cover art is fantastic and already feels iconic. Cover arts are things that you want to be so memorable that they remind you of the music, and this cover does just that. The music video for "Devil In Disguise" only adds fuel to the fire. Seeing Duvy, Menace, and Astro in one video really improves the city's image and shows that, despite having a lot of hatred in it, the city has begun to change and is starting to look like the next Atlanta and I'm excited to see that. I’m very happy with this project, Astro delivered an amazing piece of work and this will be the next big step in his career. As a music video director, I'm looking forward to seeing a video for "Layer Fees." Whoever does the video will have a field day.
