Conversations With Self (Pt. 2) - Kavale

Kavale brings a strong performance with his latest project “See You Soon”. But track 3 titled “Conversations With Self (Pt. 2) is the one I’m focusing on. He is a modern lyricist with a genuine love for rap in its purest form. His voice is also another powerful tool that he has used in many other melodic records. But this track, in particular, offers simple yet purposeful beats, an amazing substance with the perfect level of energy. This music features some deep layers that elevate the meaning of the entire record to a new level. Kavale does this through a catchy tone and smooth flow. Kavale is a storyteller with a passionate delivery that makes what he says touch home and his message get across to the listener. I feel a lot of artists lose in this area, they fail to capture the person’s interest because the message isn't strong or the artist just doesn’t believe in it enough to make it meaningful. Kavales confidence shines through the mic, which is essential for someone with so much to say. I've seen musicians that lack confidence on the mic completely fail to communicate the message. I don't mean they sound nervous, but the message they're attempting to spread is either false or not coming from within their souls, and it's obvious. That's why rap isn't for everyone; to develop anything appealing, you need depth and natural delivery. Kavale provides a sound that isn't very popular in Toronto, especially among the youth but is nonetheless incredibly powerful. Rappers like J Cole and Kendrick Lamar have a lot to say. They combine poetic rap with a touch that makes their music palatable to a large audience with voices that are unique to them. Kavale accomplishes that here with "Conversations With Self (Pt. 2)." This is the third single off the 3 track EP titled "See You Soon." The other tracks include “Sunday Morning”, and “Selfish…” These deliver a more melodic and upbeat sound. Kavale has a great voice made for so many different sounds but I'm most amazed by his rapping abilities. Having a strong voice with the ability to deliver meaningful lyrical rap is uncommon, especially in Toronto. Kavale has put together a well-executed project with a lot of talent and I’m excited to see where he goes next.
