Exes & O's - Speng Squire
Speng Squire
Speng Squire’s latest release titled “Exes & O's” brings a different energy from Speng. He creates some fantastic melodies by stretching his voice and delivering some beautiful vocal harmonies. Another driving element behind this project is its emotional value. The EP consists of six singles, including the tracks like "Back to You," "Still My Love," and "Numb." These were the ones that spoke to me the most. The project stays consistent to using very similar beats and instrumentals creating a synchronized project. If you're only listening to one song, you can and will most likely end up listening to the entire project just from the way it was put together. The opening, "Back to You," was really beautifully structured. This is a fantastic opening, and it is the one that initially drew my interest. The first track is crucial, and it will undoubtedly set the tone for the rest of the project. This is an important fact for all projects, the intro and outro can never be overlooked cause those moments are what set quality apart. The instrumentals open up with these beautiful pianos and a cinematic vocal loop in the background. These lovely pianos and a dramatic vocal loop in the background The beat is simple, yet it provides enough thump to keep the momentum going. Speng begins to deliver that Speng performance but now with an higher emphasis on the flows and melodic sound that I believe he genuinely excels at. He has a natural voice, and he has already used it to his advantage throughout this project. His flows don't only come to play in his higher energy trap mixes but also bleed into these slower more emotional records. Speng has crafted a great project with a lot of gems, I’m excited to see what Speng delivers next.
