Amari - Love That For Me
Weekly Music
Amari recently released her latest project, "Love That For Me." This is a five-song EP with no features. I like that she chose to just showcase herself and not include anyone else. She has one of the most devoted followings I've ever seen. In just a few days, the project has amassed over 100K streams. The project was highly anticipated, and it not only delivered on our expectations, but it also outdid itself in general. Amari provided us with some of her best work to date. Her incredible voice, combined with her incredible production quality, is a huge part of what makes her music so addictive. She has mastered this infectious cadence at this point. The project's sound and style are very consistent, and it employs similar beats throughout. This consistency of sound makes the project very cohesive and enjoyable from beginning to end. Large projects with multiple sounds and styles are difficult for most people to listen to in a sequence. Some tracks require a specific mood, which this project maintains throughout. My personal favourites are "Love Me Like This," "Pick Up My Feelings," and "Never Knew You." The entire project is brilliant and provides her fans with a good selection of songs to choose from. Each gives off a slightly different vibe while still serving the project's overall purpose. On "Never Knew You," I love her flow and energy. I really like the bigger, more confident tone of her delivery. This could be because I enjoy aggressive music, rap, and hiphop. But she has this more assertive tone that really makes a difference. The beat selection in the track contributes to that energy. The beat adds that heavy thump and creates a larger, more powerful atmosphere. "Pick Up My Feelings" contrasts nicely with "Never Knew You." The softer, lighter instrumentals help Amari ground her performance in the more cloudy, larger-than-life atmosphere that the instrumentals establish right away. Her vocals shine brightly on this track. This project is an excellent example of consistency across all five tracks. Giving each track enough to satisfy a specific aspect of Amari while leaving fans with only Amari and no extraneous features. I absolutely love every decision she made, and the project is flawless. I'm looking forward to more release through out the rest of the year, but especially to seeing what she does with her next full-length project. Maybe even a debut studio album. Regardless, I'm excited to see what she does next and I know that the fans will be there to support her every move.
