TVGucci is a rap legend from Toronto. Back in 2017, his influence and music were among the best in the trap scene. His discography is chock-full of bangers and timeless classics. Gucci has always been that older figure in the scene because he is older than most of the upcoming talents, which makes him more certified. As a result, his music sounded more grounded and consistent. His aggressive deep tone cadence and distinct flows add something new to the overall Toronto scene. He has something for the city's trap lane of hip hop that I don't think anyone else has delivered on. At least not to the level of quality that Gucci possesses. Gucci's discography begins in 2017 with the single "Tlvsd." This track is well produced and mixed, with a confident Gucci on the mic. It's clear that this is not his first time behind the mic. His delivery and flow are two of the most impressive aspects of his performance. The track is also very short under 2 minutes which was ahead of its time. Most tracks nowadays are much shorter than they used to be. "That My Thang" would be his next release. This song delivered a thumping 808 and a very catchy and memorable hook. This Hook really identified Gucci in the scene at the time. It was a nice change of pace because it was so different yet so familiar to us. His delivery and flow of the verse would also bring massive critical acclaim. "Traphouse," his next release, would be a faster, more jam-packed track. This is a trap track with a different cadence and an overall different vibe. 2017 was a great start, and 2018 would take it even further. The year began with a few bangers, including "Night Time," "Check," and "Da Work." On "Da Work," he started using cleaner overall mixing, and his cadence changed slightly, becoming more smooth and true to his natural voice. That would be the case for the rest of 2018, including "Handout," "Why Nawt," and "Tlvsd II." Gucci's first project, "Tlvsd the Series," would also be released in 2018. This album included new singles "I Can Tell," "Jealousy," and "Too Late." Gucci's sound at the time was that 2014 Atlanta trap sound, as well as these more clean, pure melodic rap tracks that were fairly new to the city at the time. He had a consistent style that was contributing significantly to his development. 2019 would only bring two songs, "That's My Word" and "I Am." Both provide thumpy high energy trap vibes. 2020 would be a short year as well, with only three releases. "Change," "Living Dangerously," and a massive Jake Paul track on which Gucci appeared. These were slower years on the discography, but Gucci was working on many projects that we would later see. Gucci gave us some one-of-a-kind tracks in 2021. He had a drill track, he was featured on a more pop-sounding track with Natalie Reign, and he was on a lot of other dope tracks. This is the best Gucci has ever sounded, and his consistency has finally begun to return. The year 2021 would bring us the project that would draw a lot of new attention and eyes to the man himself. This is a classic project that contains some of his best work. This is a must-listen project packed with hits, unique sounds, and dope flow combinations. "Big Screen," "Bora Bora," and "Today" were some of my favorites. This is the Gucci that turned me into a fan; he had discovered a perfect sound that I believe he could dominate. Gucci would introduce a few new features in 2022, including "EASY PEEZY V2," "STUPID CUPID," and "Balotelli." His sole release is a track titled "Gangta Gentlemen Remix," which features Smiley. Gucci is one of the more mature rappers in the scene who makes good music and stays out of the spotlight; he may be doing more behind the scenes that we are unaware of. Gucci, on the other hand, has built a fantastic career and has a fantastic consistent discography to show for his skill and talents. I'm looking forward to hearing what he has in the vault and hoping to see him release another classic like "Big Screen."
