"SUPER C" is a 7-track EP loaded with some classic throwback lyrical rap. They bring something unique to the city in today's climate and age. It's something that tends to get overlooked but I'm happy artists are sticking to what they like and what they are passionate about rather than what sells. But Toronto is still home to a lot of true rap fans. RUN combines old flows with new and exciting modern beat selections creating something new and fresh while triggering the feeling of nostalgia. They resurrect lyrical rap, a dying art, and expertise. This brings back so many wonderful memories of rap from the late 1990s and early 2000s. This reminds me of the MTV days, but with a modern spin. The album's heavy hitters include "NOTHING LIKE IT," "TWO FACE," and "BLACKLIST." Everything about it is fantastic, from the flow to the delivery to the certain cadence. They have their sound on lock and there is nothing else more to say. Their instrumental selection is both nostalgic and one-of-a-kind. The storytelling is at a whole other level. They express themselves and bring it all to life on the beat. This duo is one of the best in the city, perfectly complementing each other and showing two distinct voices. You can recognize who is rapping, unlike some rappers who sound identical to one another and can't even tell who is who when they hop on each other's tracks. RUNXGUN is definitely one of the most underrated rappers in the city with a lot of substance and the energy to show the city what is really up. I'm excited to see what they have in store for us next.
