LUM recently dropped his newest tape titled "Made It Far," this 3-track tap delivers an experience within its short run time. The tape kicks off with the title track, "Made It Far," which is undoubtedly the most popular song on the tape. In this track, LUM confidently expresses himself, and I particularly enjoy the melodic tone of his delivery across this project. Each song places a strong emphasis on catchy melodies and smooth flows. The production value of each track is highly impressive. Personally, I appreciate a well-crafted beat, as it plays a crucial role in the success of a song. "Take Me Higher" effectively utilizes its instrumentals to create an energetic atmosphere, while "Only Thing I Need" combines compelling instrumentals with hard-hitting lyrics, evoking a more emotional vibe and giving us something more heartfelt and deep. "Take Me Higher" has this exciting melodic upbeat energy that just feels good. I can’t help but sing along. The catchy hook mixed with LUM’s passionate delivery really gives this track that edge. All three songs maintain a consistent style that aligns with LUM's artistic aesthetic. However, each track manages to offer something distinct, providing a clear purpose for each song. Among the three, "Only Thing I Need" stands out as my personal favorite. I am drawn to its emotional nature, as it allows me to connect with the artist on a deeper level. LUM effectively conveys his emotions through his melodies and lyrics, which is an important aspect of relatability. We all experience difficult times in life and tracks like this one help both the artist and the audience find solace and strength together. LUM's ability to switch up his flow and incorporate intricate rhythms is truly refreshing. While the genre of melodic rap may seem saturated, LUM manages to bring a fresh perspective to it. His music resonates with authenticity, a quality that can be challenging to find in today's music landscape. It's remarkable to see how a song, especially at a young age, can profoundly impact someone's life. This is exactly what I say music with a deep emotional touch goes a long way for both parties. LUM's potential is evident, and I eagerly anticipate his future endeavors. A full-length project would undoubtedly showcase his talents and would also give him the spotlight to dive even deeper and create some versatile music.
