JAHSH just released his latest single titled “Don’t Need Em.” This ones another banger, it’s already a classic. Everything from the beat selection to the delivery and the music video is all just A1 quality. JAHSH been had a choke hold on the underground scene for sometime, some of his earlier more popular releases being “You Won’t Understand,” and “Can’t Play Fair.” JAHSH has this addictive and distinct cadence that just sounds so raw. There is something about his vocal tone that just sounds perfect. You can really get a full scope of his cadence on “Don’t Need Em.” He delivers this memorable flow and melody that just matches the beat perfectly. His multi dimensional sound and vocal tone is displayed best on his most recent work. His flow changes are exciting and his melodic vocal approach is a staple of his music. He makes it sound so easy. His mixing and editing style is important, his ad libs add so much energy and fill in the voids perfectly. The production behind this track is superb, the beat delivers this powerful punch with a very simple yet catchy melodic rhythm. JAHSH always delivers some of the more unique and exciting beats to the table and this one is by far my favourite. JAHSH’s consistency in the last few months has been a really big step in the right direction. This is also a reason as to why he has been on my radar more and more with each month. Quality is important but consistency and quantity is still a massive part of reaching any higher level of success in this industry. We living in a fast food era so we all have to keep up to the demand. There should always be quality control but one thing lots of people lose track off is that at this level we playing at, being rare like Playboi Carti ain’t gonna get you far.

Even he was consistent and released a ton of music until he built that large fanbase, only then did he begin to shift the scene and start influencing the younger generation. And I’m bringing this up because I feel like JAHSH has that same potential. He had the torch before most of these underground artists I know of today and that’s something that plays a huge deal in the long run. Aside from that, “Don’t Need Em” has been performing very well, it’s performing even better then some of his other releases in the past few months. I feel like it’s time for the next step, that next step should be a full length project. We have yet to see JAHSH’s heart poured into a full length body of work. The reason I mention this is because albums and EP’s are what creates real fans and what helps spread the word of an artist. JAHSH is one of the underground acts that has the support of the industry and already has a fanbase so early on in his career. He is in the perfect position to capitalize on an album release. The hype around it would be intense. Full length projects are also great moments to collaborate and feature other names in the underground, furthering the numbers and reach potential. JAHSH has done so well with this singles over the years and his collaborations that I wouldn’t be surprised if he was able to turn around and released a project with some of the best in the city on it. It would probably be one of the best projects of the year and maybe the most streamed too. But I can only speculate and hope that JAHSH has something in the works. 2023 is gonna be a huge year for the Toronto underground scene and i’m excited to see where JAHSH decides to go next.
