Portions' most recent release is a 9-track EP titled "I Am Nothing Without." This album has a number of heavy hitters such as "Wave," "Ties," and "99PRBLMS." These are some strong divers for the project, but there are other sleepers, like "No Purses," that bring that calm, slow beginning that then transitions into this quicker, more forceful rhythmic masterpiece. The song is distinctive and catchy; this track reminds me a lot of Future. It's not Portion's regular sound, but it's a solid one in which he executed effectively and gave us a new cadence to. "DREAMS MONEY CAN BUY" is another underappreciated track. Portion has a somewhat unusual flow with a basic and light beat; it's an excellent project starter. The instrumentals assist to emphasize Portion in both the main part of the song and towards the end, where the energy ramps up and Portion demonstrates what the remainder of the project will sound like. The record concludes with another sleeper tune, "DIOR ME," on which he expresses all of his emotions over a tremendous instrumental that provides the energy and establishes the mood. Portion adds a lot of energy and intense passion into his lyrics and delivery, and the project is top-notch from start to finish. The instrumentals and rhythm selections not only assist but deliver the remainder of the energy. They also help create the mood and ambiance. The environment is crucial not just in terms of vision, but also in terms of audibility. Portions' music feels cinematic, which is achieved not just via the mood provided by the instrumentals, but also by Portions' delivery and cadence. He's obviously nailed his sound, and his confidence shines through. This is a high-quality collection of songs, including a few new hits that live up to the expectation. This project is unquestionably in the top ten for 2021.
