FBK - ICICLES

Weekly Music

FBK has just released his new single "ICICLES." Since "Laser Tag," he's been on everyone's neck. I have a feeling his consistency and overall output will be on a whole new level this year. At this rate, he'll be one of the main guys in the underground in no time, and his music and quality speak for itself. "ICICLES" was previewed a few days ago, building anticipation for the release. The track exudes a fun and exciting energy. The beat complements FBK's signature melodic vocals with the perfect undertone and thump. The beat begins the track by establishing the overall vibe and atmosphere. The vocal cadence of FBK is a distinguishing feature of his music. His beat selections are excellent, but I really like how he delivers and mixes his vocals. It's a key component of what sets him apart. The quality beat is matched by a quality cover art that actually fits the song perfectly. It's a diamond-encrusted ice crystal, a simple but powerful image. The song has a very memorable hook, which contributed significantly to the song's success. It’s a catchy one but also very melodic and different. FBK has this impeccable flow that just goes crazy. He changes his flows and rhythms throughout so smoothly and effortlessly and that’s what makes him stand out. He mixes a good amount of flow changes and delivers the right lyrics to go with it. Delivering the right lyrics can be hard because that’s a whole world to learn in itself but FBK has always sounded like a very articulated guy and that will take him far. His ability to flow with such clean melodies and harmonies is also what sets him apart. This track pushes that side of FBK much more than "Laser Tag," and I love it. His sound is generally melodic, but here he begins to almost sing at times while also showcasing his range a lot more. It's a vibe, and the song's catchy and melodic tone is what keeps it on my playlist. I'm looking forward to hearing more music; we need an EP or a project of some kind with this exact sound. It's a mix of different energies, but a melodic tape would be huge for the underground, as well as a significant moment and next step in his career.
