FBK just dropped his first project of 2023, and it's called "FRESHYY!" This collection includes six tracks, and what's really cool is that all of them share a consistent sound and vibe. Over the past year, FBK has really grown as an artist and found his niche in the underground music scene. One thing that stands out in his music is the way he mixes his vocals – it's a defining feature that I always recognize when I hear his tracks. FBK also has a knack for picking beats that perfectly match his style, and I have to say, his beat selection is top-notch. It's so good that when you hear a beat, you instantly know it's FBK and not some bigger rapper. In the underground scene, many artists reuse beats from more famous names like Yeat, PlayBoi Carti, and Destroy Lonely, but FBK constantly pushes the envelope with his beat choices. He always manages to find fresh and unique ways to flow over them. One of the standout tracks from "FRESHYY!" is "ON MY ONES." It's a fantastic example of a great beat combined with amazing flows and melodies. This track exudes a viby, feel-good energy with a spacious, larger-than-life atmosphere. Something you'll notice in Klay's music is the use of reverb, especially during the melodic moments like in his hooks. Normally, I'm not a fan of overusing effects, but Klay works some magic with his reverb – it's become an integral part of his signature sound. While there are tracks like "STICK UP!" that use less reverb, others like "ON MY ONES" and "BREAD N' BUTTER" embrace it more. It's subtle enough in most of his music that it adds a distinct flavor without overwhelming the listener. One of the things that stands out about Klay is how much better at releasing music he has gotten. The rollout for this project has been great, releasing a single titled "STICK UP!" a few months before the full project. This single showcased a more mature and refined Klay in terms of production, vocal delivery, and even cover art quality. It's clear that he's stepped up his visual game and production skills since our collaboration on "Laser Tag" back in September of last year. As time passed, his collaborations grew, and his presence in the underground scene expanded. In "FRESHYY!," there's one featured artist – Akari Stylze, who happens to be Klay's friend and a talented artist himself. Their chemistry shines through, particularly on the track "FORGIATO RIMZ." Personally, this track, along with "ON MY ONES," stands out as my favorites from the project. I love Klay’s fresh and unique delivery, his flows and rhythms don’t fall on the traditional side. He has this flare to him that feels and sounds really new which is very hard to come by these days. The vibrant, spacey production and the darker vibes across all six songs create a cohesive listening experience. FBK's style is becoming increasingly prominent with each release, and it's exciting to think about where he'll go next and what he has in store for the rest of the year.
