"More Than Music," Da Crook's latest release, is yet another hard-hitting track in Da Crook's line of excellent work. Da Crook is a natural rap talent, and his life experiences help bring the realities of street life and growing up without anything to his music. I can't relate to everything he says, but I can relate to some of the things he talks about in his music which helps keep my attention. But this song really turns up the heat on his opps. He has some insanely memorable lines, such as "the cops are tapping my line" and "they know this shit more than music." These bars are insane on their own, but when combined with the beat, they become something you can't get out of your head. His music captures the raw, gritty side of this lifestyle. People from all walks of life are drawn to hear his story because of his powerful delivery and smooth flow. His drill beat selection always packs a punch and sets the tone right away. This track begins with a dark instrumental before transitioning to a punchy beat. Crook's trademark cadence is something I've grown accustomed to. His vocal range and delivery are among the best in the city. He sticks to it, and when the beat drops hard, it all comes together like no other. It's made even more memorable by Da Crook's catchy flow and rhythmic delivery. It has a catchy nature that draws attention and helps the lyrics hit home even harder. Da Crook is becoming a Toronto classic, his discography is expanding, and his growth and reach are expanding beyond the city limits. I’m excited to hear what he has planned for us next.
