"Can't Be Famous" by Da Crook is one of those tunes that will bring Crook a lot of fresh recognition and highlight his talents. Da Crook boasts some of the strongest hooks in Toronto's hard rap culture. The catchy hook is catchy and memorable. His transition into his verse is slick, and the verse itself is jam-packed with solid bars such as; ("Hollow tips stacked in the glizzy if they hit an opp then it going right through him") he talked his shit with class and with seamless flows. Da Crook is a drill rapper with a great cadence and great confidence behind the mic.  This song displayed a more melodic side, with a highly memorable and marketable hook. Something that can be picked up on TikTok, probably not something he would like but that is meant in the best way possible. The instrumentals begin by increasing the excitement and mystery. The rhythm lowers, introducing us to the iconic hook. Speaking about his inability to become renowned as a result of his street life and actions. He goes into more detail in his verse, but this music accomplishes it in a way that allows you to appreciate it for sonic reasons and simply bump it without really paying attention to the lyrics. This track's two directions are what makes it so fantastic. It's Da Crook's most popular track of 2021, with over 67,000 Spotify streams. His rhyming style and delivery are influenced by Toronto drill, although he is more of an artist than a rapper. This is due to the fact that his vocal range and tone are emphasized in the hook, and I can certainly see more melodic tracks or a blend of drill and melodic rap sounds in the future. This is a great new potential direction for Crook and his future evolvement. There is a lot of potential for something global and way bigger than he can imagine.
