Lan'do - 16 Bit
Lan'do
Lan'do is a truly unique talent emerging from the city. Tracks like "16 Bit" demonstrate this perfectly. This tune adds something new and exciting to the mix. Everything from the beat selection to the cadence and even the delivery is distinct and well-executed. Something about his flow makes it so addictive and memorable. His word articulation and usage of ad libs in the track make for a pleasant and entertaining experience. The mixing and production quality are also excellent; the way the track is put together is what truly brings all of these elements together. The track's structure is unique in and of itself. Every 20 seconds, something new happens, either in his flow or in his delivery. I appreciate his inventive approach to ad libs and his cadence. His pitch and coal changes throughout the track are really It's a fantastic technique to maintain people's attention for longer periods of time while also providing something new to explore. Now this type of music aint' for everyone or something that will be playing on the radio 24/7, but it will definetly help him carve out a niche with a strong fanbase. I love his Jamaican roots and how his accent enhances the music. It adds just a touch of flavour to something already excellent. All of these creative factors contribute to the creation of a strong product. He brings so many various sounds and elements to the table in such a short period of time that it's incredible. I love to hear people make new music that is different. Regardless of it's commercial success and how far that sound can go in the current market doesn't take away from it's important and how it can potentially shape the future sounds. Toronto is established on Jamaican culture, and I can only hope for more of it in the music industry. I think we could all agree that a full-length record or an EP with this sound would be crazy. Let's hope and see where he goes next.
