Sean Leon’s latest release titled “PHASES” is another track in his widely expansive discography. His style and cadence are perfected at this point. His last few releases really speak for themselves and this one is just another massive banger on that list. “PHASES” opens up with a dope audio clip of someone speaking from an interview with a really interesting electronic instrumental in the background. The punchy 808s drop and Sean just jump right in. Sean’s melodic approach and delivery are amplified by his vocal range and his ability to shift his vocal tones around. He has created endless possibilities in how he delivers his bars and his hooks. He can make the same hook sound different every time just by the pitch chance and also a vocal tonal shift throughout the delivery of that hook. That’s how you keep yourself fresh and also unique from the rest. Not everything said is gonna be unique and new but the way you say it and deliver it is what really matters. Sean’s mixing quality and beat selection really amplify the overall experience. It’s the little things like the ad-libs and the beat stops etc. This track is a vibe, like most of Sean’s music it contains substance but is delivered in a more digestible way and he makes things so viby and roomy that it can be played anywhere and at any time. This is definitely a playlist magnet, it’s already on Northern Bars. One of the biggest rap playlists in the city. I’m excited to hear some sort of a full-length project from Sean. Either a full-length EP or even a full-length album would hit perfectly.
