On a Roll - Nate Husser

Nate Husser had fun on “On a Roll”. It sounded like a freestyle with a brief yet catchy hook. The song begins with a monotone instrumental and a voice actor who plays a show organizer. Offers us a small intro and gives us this lovely movie-like intro. It's always nice to see outstanding skits like these to liven up the music and give the audience more substance. Nate appears immediately after the beat drops. Nate's cadence is monotone, but he conveys a sense of force and energy. He has a distinct flow, at times rhyming quicker than the beat itself, yet still landing on the hit on the following bar. This brings this sense of tension but also switches things up. It's his confidence behind the microphone that makes his massaging and delivery seem real and powerful. It's important for an artist to have that level of confidence if you want your point across. Nate has shown us he has the confidence and the bar to deliver it all. His last major release was an 8 track EP with some heavy hitters such as "Iced Out Baby-G", "JELLY" and "Sleep Like A Baby". This EP showcased a lot of what Nate is made of, he has this rich sound that makes him stand out from the crowd. His instrumental selection mixed with the flows and rhythms mixed with his signature cadence all go hand in hand to making what we all know as that Nate Husser style. With this being said, I’m excited to see what Nate has in store for us next. Hope he is working on a new tape or even a full-length album with some more experimental sounds.
