Duvy has just dropped his latest project, "Hope You Notice," despite being behind bars. He's known as one of the most talented rappers in the city, and his influence has been growing steadily for the past six years. It's unfortunate to see him in this difficult situation, but hearing his music I can feel the love and passion he brings to the mic. His music keeps getting better. Duvy's storytelling reaches new heights on this project, offering a personal and powerful side of himself. The production perfectly complements his style, elevating the overall experience. The opening track, "Member Times," touches on the loss of his friends to the harsh streets and system, highlighting a cycle that's heartbreaking and seemingly never-ending. But he is trying to highlight the struggles of his life and the experiences he and his homies have had in their own neighborhood. Regardless of his circumstances, Duvy's music has the power to help others, and its impact is already evident. Duvy’s consistency has been unmatched by anyone in the city. His music also delivers on the quality aspect so it’s like a perfect blend of the two. His previous projects like "How Did I End Up Here" and "GRASSWAYZ" are some of the best to come out of the city. Duvy's style has evolved over the years, opening doors for a broader, more global audience. His shift towards more lyrical and storytelling elements has made his music even more coherent. While some mainstream listeners might find it harder to connect with his earlier tunes like "NightmareZ," tracks such as "Member Times," "Page 35.7," and "Homesick" show a more personal side of Duvy and one that feels like a really matured artist. “Page 35.7” is my personal favorite track of the project. I love the melodies and flows on this track. Duvy really struck a chord with this one and it’s been stuck in my head ever since I first heard it. The classic piano-based instrumentals really give this song a feeling of familiarity and emotion that I can resonate with. The hook on this track is amazing, Duvy really knows how to make a memorable hook and this track really took that literally. One thing this project does really well is cater to all types of Duvy fans - both the loyal ones from his "NightmareZ" days and the new ones who discovered him through tracks like "Forgive Me," "Hard 2 Live," and "Hold On," the more mature pieces. I hope to see Duvy continue to evolve and mature his sound, he is reaching a level that no artist has reached in a few years in Toronto. His potential is only starting to shine through and I hope to see him beat his case. The city has lost enough talent I hope Duvy can make it out of his situation and come back even stronger than he left.
