Two Of Those by Pilla B
Toronto Music Archive
Pilla B's latest single, "Two Of Those," is a high-energy melodic piece with fantastic flows and a ridiculously catchy hook. The beat/instrumentals provide a lot of the track's intensity and build-up. It consists of a synth melody and some light 808s. Pilla adds a cinematic flow and rhythm that we're all familiar with. His energy is unmatched, and the hook is a standout on the track, being catchy, infectious, and forceful. Pilla has been crafting bangers for years and has been in the game for a while. His sound has matured even further. He offers something unique to the city; his flow, style, and approach feel more on the line of an artist from the US, He gives me Atlanta vibes, but this is a fact that will be a breeding ground for inventing new sounds for the city. Pilla has excellent vocal tones and control of his voice. The flow and rhythmic changes throughout the track are outstanding; they bring a degree of intricacy and depth to the track that just improves everything. Pilla has been generating waves for years, and this tune will only increase the size of that wave. This is a radio smash; it was featured on Northern Bars, the biggest Canadian Spotify editorial. It also has a music video to go with the song. One thing I can say is that Pilla needs a one-of-a-kind high-end music video; he has been releasing these street rap-style music videos for tracks that are global reaching tracks. There are talented guys out here eager to revolutionize the game and I think this may help Pilla stand out even more and bring a whole new wave of attention his way. If this is the type of energy Pilla is going to continue to bring, his next release will only see a bigger response.
