AINT HIRED by SBWITDADASH

Since its debut in January, SB's current single, "AINT HIRED," has been my literal playlist anthem. This song is one of 13 on SB's latest album titled "LIVE IN THE MUD." "AINT HIRED" is the album's largest and loudest track; it's the main event, so to speak. However, it is one of several hard-hitting tunes on the album as a whole. I prepared a separate article discussing and breaking down the entire album. "AINT HIRED" begins with a big energy buildup using pianos and trumpets. The beat kicks in with strong 808s and SB immediately dives into his hook. The high-energy, catchy, and addictive hook is a masterpiece in and of itself. The way he put it together is just beyond me. It's just been stuck in my mind since the album's release, which is something I can't say for many musicians. The verse is passionate and forceful. SB has been on his emotional timing throughout this entire release; the topics he discusses are adult in nature, but it's true, shit he's gone through, and you can sense it in his voice. His intensity and passionate delivery come naturally to him. Haters may claim he sounds like this or that, but you can't fake emotion, and the shit he speaks about and how he delivers it is what keeps me and many others coming back. Of course, his voice is a huge component as well; he has essentially mastered the mix behind his voice. He has a strong, punchy voice with a wide range and tone. His ad-libs, on the other hand, stand out. I've stated it before, but his ad-libs are something that continues to improve the music. With his ad-libs, he helps transmit the lyrics and your vision of them. It's as if he's asking a question with the lyrics and then offering a shaky answer with the ad-libs. This is rounded off by the instrumentals, which bring out the thump and glue everything together. His rhythms and flows are fluid and polished. He has truly nailed his tone at such an early time in his career. It's a well-executed piece of work that I can't get enough of. His whole album is loaded with hard-hitting tracks, and it has been one of the year's best efforts thus far. SB has been consistently releasing lately; this might be the start of a new direction for SB. But one thing is certain: SB has clearly found his lane. His music has been the best it’s ever been and the only thing left is to expose it to the entire world.
