Astrokidjay’s “My Time” single is one of his best tracks when looking at it from all perspectives. It has a catchy and memorable hook, his flow is smooth, and combined with his signature voice, it all goes hand in hand in bringing it together. The instrumentals are clean, simple, effective, and help amplify the artist just like it should. The vibe is everything, a track has to have an established vibe/ feeling it’s trying to give to its listener. “My Time” is a chill yet groovy trip.

The Brampton native, Astrokidjay has a good mix between the new Toronto sound and his own unique sound. He may have similarities to Duvy and many other artists in Toronto but he is proving himself different. Tracks like “My Time”, Kung Fu, & 3am are perfect examples of how he differentiates himself. Jay’s vocals have a lot of range, he uses a higher pitch in most of his music but I can tell he has the ability to go up and down the range making him a lot more versatile. Jay’s ability in making a great hook consistently is a great advantage to making your music hit larger audiences. His verses are nothing to scoff at either. He brings a different energy to the table, he has a very calm voice but at the same time very powerful and confident. Confidence is key in pushing the message forward. People can hear someone who isn’t confident in the words they say. Jay is fully confident in what he says and does and it shows in his music and appearance.
