Ty lab has been on my radar since the beginning of the year 2022. His music has been on repeat all year because of his great voice. He is one of the newer artists making waves this year, with a sound that is R&B with beats and elements of drill and hip hop thrown in that really sets him apart. His vocal tone and cadence are so clean and cinematic, he's got it down pat. He has an incredible range and a very distinct R&B style. He checks all the boxes behind the mic. He has great vocal presents, great production and great overall execution of his vision. I say that because I can see it and feel it through his music. While his discography is limited, he has a level of quality that simply delivers timeless music. Ty lab has the potential to be the next big thing in the city's ever-expanding and growing music scene. His discography begins with "Close To You," a single released in 2021. This track already exhibited the Ty lab of today, who is extremely creative with his beats and instrumentals and has that powerful yet angelic melody. This is clearly not his debut single, but it is one of the best songs to begin any discography with. "Ignore Me" would be his next single. This song features a drill beat, his classic angelic vocals, and a rap-inspired flow. It's something that really pushed the boundaries and makes for a new take on R&B. It’s definitely the most refreshing sound I have heard all year. He is truly carving out a new path for himself and future artists. I had no idea I needed this until I heard it for the first time. Ty lab would keep the energy going by releasing his first project titled "Memories." This is an 8-track EP that delivers a great concise piece of work on all fronts. Its consistency helps it hit harder and makes it easier to listen to from beginning to end. "Love me Know," "Deja Vu," and "Memories" are my personal favourites from the project. Great production, great beat selection, and his melodies throughout the project are infectious and powerful. He has something that drives this atmosphere around his music that just feels right. A full-length album featuring major underground collaborations would be massive in 2023, I hope there is something already in the works. 2022 delivers another bunch of great singles with his first one being “City Girls.”

This is his best song yet. The beat selection, overall production, and Ty lab's lyrical and melodic delivery are simply unforgettable. This song has an incredible feeling and vibe to it. Mainly constructed by the mix of the usual beat selection and his incredible voice. The hook is one of his best and most memorable, and when combined with his melodies and bouncy flow, it makes for a very classic and well-crafted track. His next single, "Talk To Me," features another incredible performance over a drill beat, creating yet another instant classic. There is a slight but noticeable improvement in his confidence and mic presentation though. There's something special about this year's music; it's as if nothing has changed, but everything just sounds more mature and established. For example, I've been using the same equipment for my videos since 2020, and the videos have gotten a lot better, like next level better. I've noticed it with others over a few years, but Ty lab seems to have reached that perfect level this year, where he just feels like he's ready for the main stages. It’s a mixture of many things but he has the voice, the unique style of R&B and a look. He has all the boxes checked off. It’s just a matter of time until the world wakes up. The way he uses his voice and flow style on the track "Talk To Me" feels like it wasn't meant to be mixed, but when done correctly, it's one of the best sound combinations out there. Never thought drill beats would be my favourite when discussing a singer, but it has become my go-to, and Ty lab is the only one doing it. "As Usual," is another of his infectious vocals singles with a more melodic rap beats. The one thing that has become synonymous with him is the way he vibrates his vocals throughout the track. It's something very good singers tend to do and something that isn't easy to execute on such a regular bases. These small details make all the difference and have become a trademark of his music. His most recent and final release of the year was "Alone At Midnight," which I wrote about last month. This is a three-track EP that is his best overall project to date. Ty lab's music has this energy to it that just creates this perfect and viby atmosphere. His vocal range and style are highlights of his work, and his quality production and attention to detail cannot be overstated. I'm looking forward to seeing him flourish in 2023 and performing in front of a crowd.
