PMID has been on my radar for a few months, and after looking through his discography, I saw the significant progression over the years as well as the amount of overall music that had been released. It's fascinating to investigate. PMID is one of the underground artists who is bringing something new to the scene right now. His cadence flows, and delivery is all fantastic. His voice has a distinct tone that sets him apart. His excellent production quality and beat selection are the cherries on top. Since 2017, PMID has been officially releasing music. He mentioned making music in school and being a part of a rap group collective in our interview, but only he and his homie would continue making music after that first week. His influences include A Tribe Called Quest and old Kanye West. His earlier musical tastes would play a significant role in getting him to where he is now. His dedication and drive play a significant role. Looking through his discography, you can see his humble beginnings and how far he has come over the years. In September of 2017, he released his first single, "Roadman." His vocals were actually quite good; you can hear the voice that would become and take on a larger form in 2022, but it was his production and mixing on this track that really did him in. But for a first single, it's actually quite good and showcases PMID's raw potential. The talent had only recently begun to emerge. His next EP, "Season Opener," was a 5-track EP. This is quite surprising given that he only recently released his first single and is now bringing a full EP to the table. This was a very experimental EP, with sounds and styles that would never be heard again, but which contributed to the overall development of the sound that PMID would later adopt and master. My personal favorites and standouts are "Xbox," "I Don't Cyare," and "Shifty." "Shifty" stands out as the best and sounds the most like what he releases today. He would finish the year with three more singles titled "Powermind," "Bath Salts," and "What You Want,” in which he would continue to experiment and find his style. The year 2019 would begin with a single titled "Fears." This is a significant step up in terms of production; he begins to push his vocal abilities and boundaries.

His next single, "Relax," would be his final for the year, giving us more of the Soundcloud sound that was popular at the time, and he did an excellent job on that. It's one of the more memorable songs from his discography prior to 2021. PMID had a very eventful year in 2020, taking music to a whole new level. A much higher priority was given to his sound and consistency. The year began with the single titled "Perfect Storm." This is exactly what I had been hoping for; his production, vocal tones, overall cadence, and delivery were all exceptional. He sounded like he was reborn. This more melodic sound would take shape this year and eventually take over his overall style. There were still experimental sounds, such as "Talk to Me." This year, his versatility, production, and cover art quality would only improve. This year would also see the release of his first eight-track project, "Open Mind." One of my favorite covers in his discography. It stands out and always makes me feel as if I've seen it before, bringing back memories. It's a cover art that brings nostalgia and that's something only major classic albums do. The music itself held up to the standard, much like a classic album would. My personal favorites from this album are "Host," "WYA," and "Understand". The year 2021 saw an all-time high in both production and quality. His singles included "Can't Pretend," "UNPREDICTABLE," and "You Catch My Eye." All of these songs have the most refined cadence so far. It's radio-friendly music that has global appeal. Things were looking and sounding better than they had ever been at this point. It's a remarkable progression from his debut single in 2017. His discography would peak in 2022 with his first single, Hunch, featuring the one and only SV Scorin. There is no denying that this song is a smash hit. Everything from the beat selection to the melodies to PMID's excellent action-packed verse. SV gave us a very catchy and memorable Hook that stayed in my head for days. This duo is so talented that they gave us a collaborative tape called "STUCK AT THE TOP" a few months later. Hits from this mixtape include "Celly," "Don't Ruin My Night," and "Stuck." This was a great project with something to prove and a project that is going to be regarded as an underground classic. It will definitely see the light of the mainstream soon enough. Going from his sound in 2017 to what he's releasing today, it's like night and day in every way. I'm curious to see where PMID goes next and what he has planned. Perhaps a few more classic singles, but that full-length album is something I can't wait to hear.
