Jayy Brown
Toronto artist blog
Jayy Brown is a young artist from Toronto with some heat. Jayy has a great-looking and sounding discography. Jayy is a high-quality recording artist, recent releases like “Slick Talk”, and “Everyday” are just a small portion of what Jayy has in his library. The quality control and consistency are far and few between. I’m very surprised Jayy isn’t a more known artist in the city, having features from Duvy, Roney, Eva Shaw, Dirty, and many more. The versatility of Jayy is amazing, having the ability to rap and spit heavy bars but also having a great voice for R&B and more melodic rap. Melodic rap is taking over the rap scene. Artists like Rod Wave, Toosie, and many more are considered R&B artists but also Rap artists as well. Young Thug is one of the pioneers of this modern hiphop and we can see this genre of hiphop getting more and more popular as time goes on. Jayy’s latest EP titled “Control” is a great example of Jayy reaching more into his vocals and talking a softer more melodic approach. But can also go so far to the right with tracks like “Slick Talk”. The heavier rap and hiphop on that is a massive contrast to tracks like “Lesson” & “Control”. I can always appreciate an artist with such consistency and dedication. This is someone with a vision and someone who will slowly gain that devoted fan base and make music that will be loved and listened to for years and decades to come. With a promising future and a long successful career, I can’t wait to see what Jayy does next and what his next project will be.
