JAHSH is one of my favorite artists emerging from Toronto's new-age underground scene. He has a distinct sound that incorporates a variety of styles and genres while adding his own twist. I appreciate the new generation of musicians for their ability to constantly invent and create new sounds from what is already available on the market. In the last year, JAHSH has released a number of great songs. I first learned about him back in late 2021, and things have only gotten better since then. That, along with the new wave of underground talent I'm nurturing through this platform, means we're on the verge of experiencing the first major resurgence and global relevance. This time creating lasting talents like JAHSH. Compared to his later work, this had a much lower quality sound and production, but it shows remarkable advancement and talent improvement. His discography began in mid-2018, with his first single "On Go" and his second track "BOOT." This track was a significant improvement over the previous one. Everything from the production quality, beat selection, and flow was done brilliantly on this track, and it still smacks today. It has a bright, cheerful summer vibe to it. This song reintroduces that familiar and beloved 2018 summer vibe we all know and love. It's unquestionably a classic. Until late April 2021, this would be the final single. "Midnight" was the title of the song, which would introduce the new JAHSH. At this time, his sound has taken shape; it's as if he's discovered himself. Whether he did or did not, the music exuded that kind of energy. He was a brand-new musician on the blog, introducing sounds and styles from many Hip Hop genres. His following track, "Lost," is the one that I first heard in the year 2021. It was an incredible display of talent; his melodic and vocal performance was at its most polished at that point and it was hard to ignore. His discography up to this point is unique and diverse. He was a master at combining different sounds and shaping something new. His track selections and vocal delivery reflect his passion for the underground vibe of Toronto rap. This vigor would carry over into songs like "Dangerous" and "Can't Play Fair." In 2021, he truly created his own lane, and it is for this reason that he has gained so much new recognition. Now, in the year 2022, JAHSH is rapidly evolving once more. "Midnight, Pt. 2" was his first single of the year, and "Get Back" is another step in that direction, with his voice becoming more high-pitched and his overall confidence increasing. As of this writing, his most recent release is "Next One," which he collaborated on with Nue. This track has a whole new tone and energy to it; it reminded me of Lancey Foux. It's a darker sound, and I believe we need more of it from JAHSH. The underground scene is growing in size and strength. Artists like JAHSH will be in demand by an increasing number of audiences. I Know that DMTV will be at the forefront of this. Our next performance will include some of Toronto's newest rising stars, including Rich Amiri, Kill Xora, and many others. I'm looking forward to seeing the scene grow and seeing what JAHSH has in store for us next.
