Cocanina is a talented rapper, singer, songwriter from Toronto. She’s one talented young woman, has a lot of potential in being something huge and special. Cocanina has shown her versatility through her music in the last 2 years. Hearing her sing on one track and rap on another is something else. She got both down on lock. Her vocals are clean and her writing skills have improved from her earlier work back in 2019.

Her discography is well versed with some of her best tracks being “Too Much”, “Traitor”, “401 West” and “Monster in the room”. They all have a lot of amazing elements that really showcase her potential as a writer but also a singer. Her voice has a lot of room to expand and her writing abilities already outshine most in the city as seen in her latest release titled “Monster in the room”. She blew the expectations out of the water. The track has emotional value, she takes about sensitive issues and things that most people would keep to them selfs. This one top of the flow and instrumentals made for a very impactful track. I can’t decide whether I like her rapping more or her singing, she may just be that one that does it all and does it successfully. It’s not easy to take multiple styles and make a name for yourself. Artists normally find a sound that works for them in getting them recognition. They then begin to evolve over time and start to branch into other styles and sounds. Cocanina on the other hand is jumping into that from the start, building a fanbase on her versatile style. No matter what direction you choose, it’s important you choose the one you're more passionate about because people can see through the fakery and through the bullshit and I can see that Cocanina does what she does best and that she loves it.
