The Toronto native, Kid Kwazii is a young talented artist that packs a punch. His latest release titled “MANHUNT” is a high-energy, aggressive yet mad catchy tune. His aggressive tone mixed in with the catchy memorable hook makes for a fantastic experience like no other in the city. Kwazii is very different from other big names in the city, that is, of course, good news because we need more musicians pushing new sounds and waves to the city. Kwazii is one of those I feel will be at the forefront of new sounds in the city. As the city grows and as we take it to new heights, Kwazii will be one of the pioneers in his own right. He has a void to fill here and I can see him thriving off the high-energy trap hits like “MANHUNT”. Kwazii’s discography isn’t large but has enough distinction and enough music to show off what he is capable of doing. His EP titled “Hamartia” is a 6 track project with “No features” being the highlight of the project. His latest singles are the ones that really sine his potential and have made me become more aware of his presence. His two latest singles “Dead wrong” & “MANHUNT” are perfect examples of what Kwazii is capable of doing. He has the mainstream sound on “Dead wrong” & the harder underground trap gritty sounding “MANHUNT”. They are massive contrasts to each other but showcase his versatility and what he is capable of doing. His early work was slowly building towards his recent releases like “Lyrical Sh*t Freestyle”, “Detroit Freestyle”, & “Up N Stuck”. These are exactly what makes Kwazii stand out, this is the sound I feel Kwazii can truly master and take over. He is still early in his career but I can already see his future being bright as long as he keeps consistent and keeps pushing his own lane forward. Some exciting news from Kwazii is his upcoming collaboration with fellow artist PINO is something that may rock the city, time will tell. But I hope he continues to innovate and pave his own path in the industry. We are here to change Toronto so let’s do it together.
