APB is a strong creative duo that provides a lot of light and creativity to the music scene. Over the last decade, they have delivered a lot of amazing moments by bringing a genuine raw sound and emotion to the table. They are still a highly underrated duo in the city; they have been delivering gems for years, their reputation is high, but the industry has been rather quiet. I believe that certain creatives and artists are simply designed for a greater purpose; being on the charts does not always imply that you are making the right moves. Making an impact on culture and leaving a lasting impression, on the other hand, is what the APB (Airplane boys) have done. When you look over their discography, you will discover some amazing stuff. Their debut release was in 2012, when they released a 6-track EP titled "Alignment." These tracks contain a lot of the essence of the sound that we still hear today, indicating that they have been doing this for a long time and have developed their sound during that time. The EP features lower-end production and a grittier sound, which were prevalent and popular at the time. This was the era when Chicago Drill and internet rap were becoming widespread and making tremendous ripples around the world. The next year, in 2013, they produced two full-length projects titled "Brave New World'' and "Alignment," with over 25 songs between the two. This was also backed by a tune titled "Young Kings," which has some amazing production quality and beat selection. A significant improvement over the previous year's effort. This would be the case for the foreseeable future. In 2014, they released "Egos & Expectations," a project that introduced some new and fresh sounds and beat productions to the scene. However, this was the final known release for a few years. Their next song, "Paprika," was released in 2018. This was the most marketable material that has been released thus far in that moment, and it represented a progression. They began to deliver their distinct sound, which they had been developing and perfecting over the previous five years, to a wider audience. "Rome," featuring (Jessie Reyez), was the next single, and that was the last until 2020. That year, they released seven singles and a full-length album titled "As We Speak." This was an extremely well-executed project, with outstanding production, delivery, and the most confident cadence to date. This was a tremendous year for the duo, and covid lockdown were certainly factors. Being locked inside a house as a creative can only mean one thing: you'll come out on top with the most creative work you've ever created. They would follow up with a single titled "Price" in 2021, which is my favorite track in their catalog. It's such a fun, high-energy sound that I think they'll be able to dominate. However, I believe that times have changed and that progress and trends begin and expire so swiftly that if you are not on your phone on a daily basis, you will undoubtedly miss the next big thing. But it's the fact that these individuals stick to their guns and their visions that makes me admire and appreciate them. They've cultivated a devoted following that will cheer them on at every turn, and that's something extraordinary.
