Akintoye
Toronto artist blog.
Akintoye is one unique and talented individual. He exudes a charisma that no one else in the city can match. His energy is not just entertaining and exhilarating, but also inspiring. Akin is not only an artist, but also a public figure who posts memes and funny clips. He has built a fanbase around his personality and his meme content but his music gets a lot of attention and love from his fanbase. There really aren't too many creators that also do music and can successfully do both, let alone in Toronto. Akin, on the other hand, possesses a plethora of outstanding attributes that contribute significantly to who he is. But let's get back to the music: his catalogue dates back to 2019, with his first single, "Money Makes Us Animals," being released in 2019. I personally love the name of the track, that on its own already showcases the type of guy he is but the track is a crazy introduction to Akin. His style and delivery in 2019 aren't far from what he does now, and his performance on "Money Makes Us Animals" is incredible. He has quick flows and superb rhythmic and lyrical content. This is a recurring theme in Akins' music. He has this ability to bring out the lyrical game, but he also has a more playful, funny attitude in later years on tracks like "The Line." His next track, "Cruise Ship," has the Akin we all know and love. His delivery, flow, and display of confidence are all captivating and thrilling. In 2020, he released four songs and a full-length album. The singles were "Resume," "Off My Back," and "At the Cookout." All being some of my favourites. The album was titled "Vertigo," and it included songs like "Off My Back," "Kidding," and "Say Less." This effort was a lyrical triumph. It pulled together so many great sounds for an overall well-crafted project. In 2021, he kept the heat going by releasing a total of six singles, my favourite of which was "The Line." This was followed by a cool visual of a bank heist with great entertaining funny moments exhibiting more of Akin's personality. Having said that, Akintoye is a one-of-a-kind figure with a remarkable voice and lyrical delivery. He has a bright future ahead of him, and his current trajectory indicates that it will only be a matter of time until he becomes a superstar.
