Pisceze’s
latest project, titled Last Laugh, is a 7-track EP that offers a rich and engaging listening experience. From start to finish, the project feels cohesive, with each track fitting perfectly into the overall vibe. The beat selection, tone, and mood of the EP all come together seamlessly, creating a smooth flow that’s enjoyable from the first track to the last.
Though the EP includes 7 songs, two of them are familiar to fans, so we’re treated to 5 brand-new tracks: “Impressed,” “Pages,” “Full Clip,” “Set It Off,” and “Last Laugh.” Among these fresh additions, my personal favorites are “Full Clip” and “Set It Off.”
“Full Clip” is a standout for many reasons. The song is expertly crafted, with production, lyrics, and visuals all coming together to create something memorable. The beat has a laid-back, vibey feel that lets Pisceze’s voice shine through. Her cadence is unique and easily recognizable, which is something I truly appreciate. It’s refreshing to hear an artist who has a distinct sound—you can immediately tell it’s her when she starts performing. Her delivery is full of confidence, giving extra weight to her lyrics.
“Set It Off” takes a different approach, bringing a high-energy vibe that’s infectious. The hook is catchy, and the delivery is powerful, making it one of the most memorable tracks on the EP. Everything about this song feels deliberate, from the beat selection to the way Pisceze effortlessly flows on it. The energy she brings to this track is electric, and it’s easy to imagine it being a crowd favorite during live performances.
What sets Pisceze apart from many other artists is her attention to detail—not just in her music but in her entire presentation. The visuals, album artwork, and social media content are all thoughtfully crafted. The cover art for Last Laugh is a great example of this. It features a simple yet striking image of her mouth printed on a book, set against a clean white background. It’s the kind of artwork that catches your eye and leaves an impression. The minimalist design is effective, turning the cover into a piece of art that complements the music itself.
Her commitment to her visual presentation extends to her music videos and social media posts. Everything she releases feels intentional, with a focus on quality and aesthetics. Unlike many artists who might overlook the visual aspect of their brand, Pisceze puts as much effort into her image as she does into her sound.
Last Laugh is an EP that will likely resonate with fans of R&B who are looking for something with a pop edge. The project is well-constructed, with a strong sense of theme and unity that ties all seven tracks together. Each song feels like it belongs, contributing to the overall mood without ever feeling out of place.
I’m particularly excited to see how Pisceze translates this project into her live performances. Given the energy and presence she brings to her recordings, it’s easy to imagine her bringing that same level of passion to the stage. If you’re into R&B with a modern twist, Last Laugh is definitely worth checking out. Pisceze is proving to be one of the most promising artists coming out of our city right now, and this EP is just the latest example of her talent.
