Dimi partnered with Kofi to deliver a city-wide banger titled “Something.” Throughout the song, Kofi gave an outstanding performance. I love how versatile Kofi is; his vocal range and distinct cadence have cemented him as one of my personal favorites coming out of the city. His rapping abilities have been demonstrated throughout his discography; he truly carries substance with his rhymes, and when combined with Dimi's production, you get this incredible product we have here. The visuals enhance the track, and seeing them both in the video is something I find very important. I like it when producers, creative directors, photographers, and other key players in the music industry get their own spotlight and screen time in the music videos. I feel like we starting to get into an era where you're worth and voice are based on your image and reach. So I'm glad we got more influential players like Dimi displaying himself on screen so much. The grand atmosphere created by the beat and instrumentals is crucial in amplifying Kofi's performance. The production is some of the best I've heard; everything is beautifully mixed and mastered. The song itself has a memorable hook that stuck with me the first time I heard it. It was very well constructed and was a key component in giving the track the energy that the audience was looking for. I love how Kofi's melodic delivery flows over the beat rather than being controlled by it. It's the little things that count. I've noticed that experienced musicians, such as Kofi, begin to create music so effortlessly. At least, that's how it sounds. Dimi is rapidly creating an amazing wrap sheet of amazing collaboration and is on to making an iconic discography. I’m excited to hear what he has planned next and who he is going to work with next.
