The Letter Z
Toronto Artist Blog
The Letter Z is an artist coming straight from the West end of Toronto. Z is a very talented artist with a nice blend of HipHop and classic R&B. Z He has a great voice and articulation. His rhythms are clean and really have that perfect sound that the females like. Tracks like “Dangerous” & “Right Vibe, Wrong Location” talk about females and Z’s experience with females in general. He got a lot of good energy with great lyrics and a smooth voice. “Right Vibe, Wrong Location” is Z’s latest single that has already garnered over 3,000 streams in just a little over a week. This track is fantastic, it really takes Z to the next level. The instrumentals are fantastic, combined with Z’s hooks make for a radio-ready experience. With the quality and talent, one thing Z must do more of is getting more consistent. He needs to start releasing more music on a more consistent basis. He has a lot of potential in growing that die-hard fanbase, but consistency is the only way to reach that goal. One track a month would be ideal but even once every 3 months would be a step up from his current release schedule. Otherwise, Z got everything else on lock. For example, “Right Vibe, Wrong Location” has a fantastic music video to accompany it (directed by “Wei Yuan”). The imagery is great, it showcases the fun moments Z and a female are having to express the lyrics about the love he has for a girl. It also has a darker side with shots of Z and his homies getting kidnapped and killed by the female’s accomplices. It’s a well-put-together visual to drive the song forward. The track “Dangerous” garnered over 40,000 streams, his highest performing track. It was released last year, about two years after his previous release titled “Golden”. That’s a big chunk of time to have between two tracks and still had managed to get amazing support and a lot more traction. That just goes to show how good his music is and with a more consistent release cycle, I can see Z being a very big figure to come from Toronto.
