KY is a young up-and-coming artist from Scarborough, Ontario. Ky has been making some great music over the last year. He has been putting in the work like releasing his first album titled “Life of Ky” in April of 2020. Tracks like “Run it up”, “One for me” are my favorite ones. I feel he already has his sound but is still experimenting with some other sounds. He is still in a very early stage of his career so he got a lot more music to release until he will really have his sound but I can already hear something very special cooking up. It’s just a matter of time and consistent content and I can see him going off to a whole other level. His latest single titled “Sliding” is definitely his best work yet. He is moving in the right direction and the sound is just getting better. This track has that passionate vibe to it, something that came from the heart. This always results in something great. Most music lacks true passion, this has that. But this track needs a story-based video to take this to the next level. Ky’s diversified portfolio so far in his short career is simply amazing. He got a great voice that still has not been fully unlocked yet. For example, “One for me” and “Lockz” are way different than “Evil” and “Legend”. This is just to show that he is really experimenting with his sound. That’s really the only way to find yourself. KY’s Pharroh collaborations have all been fantastic, one in particular hits hard is titled “Run it up”. The catchy rhythm and the heavy lyrics from Pharroh make for a great track and a great experience. This is more on the rap side than the more R&B sound you got with “One for me” and “Lockz”. This is what makes me feel so confident in his future, the versatility is something that legends are made of. Over the next few years, I can see KY really building that genuine fan base and taking his career/ sound to the next level.
