Frenzay popped up on my radar a few weeks ago and I been infatuated by his music and sound. He has this powerful and exciting sound that feels fresh. His discography is full of dope tracks like “2 Faar,” “Raven,” and “Tomorrow.” Frenzay’s cadence is a stand out feature of his music to me. He has great beat selection and quality production. But his voice and the way he delivers his lyrics just feels so natural and relaxed. He almost has this monotone voice with a few key effects applied to enhance the presence of his voice on the track. “Tomorrow” is the perfect example of his memorable cadence. That track is still stuck in my head from weeks ago. It’s a sound that I feel like can catch a lot of attention as long as he keeps pushing it. Platforms like Tik Tok may speed up that process even more. Frenzay’s discography is small but powerful. His first official release dates back to 2018 with a track titled “Ballin’ for Day’s.” This track surprisingly didn’t sound very different from the Frenzay we know today. He has remained very consistent to his sound since day one and that’s something that is very hard to come across these days. The mellow and grungy sound was even more prominent back then when the production and mixing were not up to the standard of his more recent work. “Ballin’ for Day’s” has this simple yet catchy flow with a solid and thumpy beat to back it up. It still holds up great today, shows you how ahead of its time the soundcloud era music really was.

His next track would be titled “Look Good” which delivered a very different sound and style to his previous releases. I guess this was his experimental phase, he was trying to find himself and that’s something. This track delivers a great instrumental and beat that brought a powerful atmosphere to the track. Frenzay’s cadence is very different on this one and his vocals really stood out as the highlight of the track. He almost sounds like a different artist here. He delivered a more complex flow structure and had a more clear voice that felt a bit more mainstream. This just showed me how versatile he is and how he really has a lot more potential in branching out in the future. We wouldn’t get another single until 2020 when he released his track titled “Margiela.” This once again delivered a different Frenzay to the previous two singles. He has this extremely melodic vocal tone throughout the track especially for the hook. He brought a more monotone and mellow sound to his verses though. This almost felt like he had two sides to him. His next single “Lifestyle” would bring a melodic sound while also developing that more underground sounding cadence that he mostly uses today. The track also featured fellow artists like NoA4VA and Ossaioffical who deliverd great performances on their end. There would be another massive gap in music until 2022 with the single that first caught my attention last year titled “Tomorrow.” This might be his most iconic track in my eyes. There is something so memorable about this track, but it also marks when Frenzay really went into a consistent direction with his sound.

“Raven” would deliver an exciting yet different experience with a punchy beat with an even more refined Frenzay. His cadence and flow on this track are superb. Pushing the boundaries of what we though he could do. The ad libs and the mixing behind this track are all so well done. This track is a perfect example of him leveling up. This would lead perfectly into his first project which would be titled “brotherHOOD.” This is a 8 track project that delivered some classics like “Halo,” featuring my brother Von Zi “Kant Tell” featuring MURDERSAM! and “Ya Right.” “Halo” and “Kant Tell” are some of the hardest tracks in his entire discography. They are perfect from top to bottom. The production is full of energy and the flows and rhythms are on another level here. Each feature delivered a strong performance that enhanced the overall tracks and made for some very memorable moments. The project was very well put together with a lot of experimental sounds and beats. Frenzay’s aesthetic would also start to be a massive part of his overall package as an artist. The cover arts for brotherHOOD and “2 Faar” are definitely his most matured and improved art works. And his most recent release titled “2 Faar” is a new direction for Frenzay. He has really transitioned his sound overtime and now I feel like he really found his lane. That darker Whole Lotta Red type beats are probably my favourite sound Frenzay has gone in. I’m excited to see where Frenzay goes from here. He is a very talented artist with a lot of potential. We still in the early stages of 2023, so I’m excited to see what he has planned for us next.
