Waste My Time by New Friends

New Friends just delivered a smash hit record titled “Waste My Time.” This is one of the best high-energy tracks of the year. I adore how exciting it is. It's a very well-produced and put-together piece, and the superior mixing and production have elevated the song to new heights. Four people make up the band: Conrad, Stefan, Cole, and Ayden. The lead singer of the band, Stefan, is responsible for giving the ensemble its distinctive voice. He certainly has a unique way of using and combining his voice. I adore the energy he exudes; it always gets me amped, and this song achieves that in so many different ways. When I was listening to the song, its deep metaphor of a failed relationship really stood out to me. The lyrics in such a high-energy track can get lost sometimes, these guys made it very apparent. The strong atmosphere surrounding the tune makes it a pleasure to listen to, and the electrifying energy that the instrumentals create is something else. It establishes the mood and tone for the entire piece. I like the use of acoustic instruments and electronic samples across the production. It provides the ideal fusion, which I believe doesn't skew too much one way or the other. When employing only acoustics, it shouldn't sound too artificial or too rough. I can only imagine this at a show, the energy will just be electric in the crowd. New Friends has made many critically acclaimed tracks like “Purple Candy,” “Little Fires,” and “Coming Back For You.” All three songs are among their most popular streaming singles from their most recent project, "The Pilot." This is the project that put them on the map, but tracks like “Waste My Time” will have such powerful reach in the next few months and even years that it may become one of their biggest tracks down the road. It has a universal appeal, which I believe will be crucial for the music's longevity. I’m excited to see them do more shows, this type of music needs to be performed in large-scale areas. Although I am aware that moment is approaching, I can already picture them on the huge stages. Another effort, this time a full-length album, would be nice to hear. Hope they have something in the works already and I hope to hear it in the first half of 2023.
