Underdawgbuju
Toronto artist blog
Underdawgbuju is something very different. Buju is someone I have had my eye on for the last few months. One thing I have been waiting for most is another full-length project. He delivered with his latest release titled “NOBODY CARE’S GO HARDER”. This project is overall fantastic, definitely his best piece of work. Buju is not trying to be like anyone else, he has his own lane and his own sound he's going for. When you hear Buju, the last place you would expect him to be from is Toronto. That is something I always look for in Toronto, unique artists who don’t try and recycle the same sound we all heard millions of times. We need innovators and talent like Buju to create new lanes and waves. He has the potential to be one of Toronto's pioneers in the modern Toronto sound and music wave we are starting. The Nigerian native has a pretty large and quality discography, He has a total of 3 albums and a deluxe over the span of 3 years and has a total of 13 singles. His first project was titled “What’s next after September”. This project is his early sound, he was in the earlier stages of his sound and was trying to find himself. His next album would be released over a year later in 2020 titled “We will be fine”. Some of his most popular songs come from the deluxe album. The quality improvement is heard immediately. The confidence is dramatically heard in his voice and his overall voice has gone through some change throughout that year. His latest release titled “NOBODY CARE’S GO HARDER” is where he took his sound to another level. His lead single titled “KEEP AWAY” is one of the driving factors of the hype for this project. Everything from the music to the cover art to the social media presents has drastically improved his potential and his career. When I look at him now I can see the future and the hard work is paying off. Buju needs to continue to push the sound forward and start releasing more visuals for his music. Buju needs to continue building that devoted fanbase with his unique sound and continue to push his music down south to the US market. If Buju wants to see major success in the next year or two he will have to look into pushing his name down south. But with time the city will change and the possibilities will be endless. Buju has a lot of potential in being something special and I can’t wait to see what he does next.
