Munna Cash is a young up-and-coming Toronto artist with a very unique sound and style. His music reminds me of artists like Gunna, Lil Keed, Playboi Carti, and many others. But he still stands out and that’s what makes me like him so much. The fact that he is from Toronto gives me a lot of respect for him since he isn’t just following the traditional Toronto sound but is merging US artists and his own sound into something different and new for Toronto. You have to respect that no matter what you think of his music, that’s not that common in Toronto. Munna Cash has a very dedicated fanbase and the numbers keep growing. This is a very similar case with another one of my favorites “Spacejxm”.
They both got the fanbase on lock, they got people who consistently check out new releases and continue to stream the older tracks. Having genuine support from people is a key aspect of becoming a successful artist and it’s great to see that there are underground artists that have that. I can see Munna Cash blowing up next year and becoming a big-time artist in Toronto, and even start getting the attention of US audiences. One main reason Toronto has not popped off yet is that not many American’s like to listen to Toronto music because of its look and sound. That's why artists like Drake, Tory Lanez, The weekend, & Nav have such success. Their connections and talents are big factors but the fact that they don’t have Toronto plastered on their forehead is the reason more people around the world can listen to them and connect. People love the music they can either vibe out to or connect to emotionally.
Munna cash falls into the vibe category. I also don’t like to label anyone but that’s what I feel his music most pertains to. That is up to your interpretation though, go listen to his music and you will instantly know what I’m talking about. Tracks like “Taxi”, “Martian”, & “Trust Who” are tracks that really hit hard. Two of those tracks come from his latest project titled “Cash Season”. Fantastic project with major hits like “Taxi”, “Trust Who”, & “Own Lane”. “Taxi” is my favorite track from the latest project. It encapsulates his style with a more traditional beat and sound. It’s so hard that I have that track on repeat on a daily basis. It’s a definite must for anyone who wants to get a great entry to his music and his style. With over 6,538 monthly streams, he definitely has a strong fanbase with a much bigger and brighter future ahead of him. Munna cash has definitely only unleashed a small portion of what he can do, so I can’t wait to see what he does in the future.
