Abre Lo Boca by Tré Wes
Toronto Music Archive
Tré Wes just released a national banger titled “Abre Lo Boca.” This is without a doubt the best drill track to come out of the city." I've never heard a drill track with such clean production and high-quality vocal delivery in Toronto, or even in Canada in general. Most drill artists do not use high-quality tools or have such clean delivery, and this is clearly evident. Tré Wes is raising the bar significantly. This track adds a lot of energy to the table. The beat makes you want to dance and party, even get sturdy at that. The song begins with a build-up to a crazy beat drop. Tré got them viby ad libs to spice things up and get the party started. Tré Wes is a versatile artist with a strong voice and a distinct cadence. His accent contributes significantly to the uniqueness of this song. He has a Patois accent that is unusual to the drill lane. It actually sounds fantastic and is a great mix; we need more of it. The quality production, combined with his smooth energetic delivery and melodic flows combine to create a masterpiece. I couldn't believe what I had just heard at first because I was so shaken. Tré We surprised me with his level of energy. We definitely need more of where this came from. We need more gritty yet high-end "I'm a menace to society" music in Toronto. But we need another Tré Wes project, perhaps one inspired by drills. His discography isn't extensive, dating only back to 2021. However, the music is rapidly piling up to form a very well-constructed discography with a wide range of sounds and styles, drill being one of them. I'm looking forward to seeing what he has in store for us next.
